What Are Wrinkle Reducing Services?

What is Involved?

Before undergoing any wrinkle reducing skin treatments, there are a few important steps to follow:

If suitable for treatment prescription medication is used into the selected facial muscles using a very fine needle. The procedure takes approximately 10 minutes and the discomfort is minimal and brief. After treatment it takes around 3-7 days to notice the effect with the full results seen at 14 days.

Is the treatment safe?

The medication has been used for cosmetic purposes for over 15 years and for medical purposes for over 25 years. Side effects are very limited if performed by a qualified practitioner however treatment must not be administered during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and on those with certain medical conditions and medications. It is important to disclose your medical history prior to treatment.

What are the side effects?

Although side effects do occasionally occur we take particular care to minimise them. Minor side effects such as redness and swelling usually resolve within a few hours and bruising within 5-7 days. More significant side effects such as weakness in surrounding muscles and drooping of the eyelid or eyebrows usually relate to dosage and positioning which is why it is important to have treatments with a qualified practitioner. Other possible side effects include headache and mild flu like symptoms.

How long does the treatment last?

Treatment lasts for approximately 3-4 months depending on the individual. During this time the results will gradually wear off with expression lines eventually returning to their original appearance. Regular treatments may help improve the longevity of the treatment’s effects.

Post treatment information

• Avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours post treatment
• Do no massage or rub treated area for 24 hours post treatment
• Avoid lying face down for 4 hours post treatment
• You may experience general cold and flu symptoms such as a mild headache post anti-wrinkle treatment – if this occurs, paracetamol may be taken for relief
• Full effect of anti-wrinkle treatment injections may take up to 2 weeks
